The Post University men's soccer team will round out the 2012 regular season with a pair of crucial contests. The Eagles will begin the week when they travel to #3 LIU Post on Tuesday afternoon. The squad will round out the week when it hosts Nyack in a rematch of the 2011 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship game.

Powered by the sixth goal of the year by senior Francis Eno (Powder Springs, Ga.) and the fourth shutout by classmate Errol Reid, the Post University men's soccer team clinched a home Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) quarterfinal matchup with a 2-0 win at Holy Family on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Post ran its current win streak to six matches.
 
The victory enabled Post to match its win total from a season ago. The record for wins in a season is 14 and that came during the 2008 campaign.
 
Second Significant Unbeaten Streak:
Post is riding a six-match win streak and is unbeaten in its last seven outings, which is matches its longest unbeaten streak of the season. Since they lost the season-opener, the Eagles are 10-1-3.
 
Conference Leaderboard:
Four Post players rank in the top-two in six statistical categories in the CACC. Joe Baccielo stands second in points with 30 and is third in goals with 12. Kevin Ipina leads the CACC in assists with eight. Defensively, Errol Reid leads the CACC in save percentage (.865), goals against average (0.67) and goals against (five). Andre Lindsay is second in goals against with eight and is fifth in goals against average with a mark of 1.19.
 
On the National Scene:
In the latest NCAA statistics report, which includes matches through Oct. 21, Baccielo and Ipina rank in the top-30 in six scoring categories. Baccielo is 11th in total points (30) and total goals (12), 16th in points per game (1.88) and 21st in goals per game (0.75). Ipina is ninth in total assists (eight) and 19th in assists per game (0.5).
 
CACC/ECAC Clean Sweep:
On Monday, Oct. 15, and Tuesday, Oct. 16, three members of the program swept both the CACC and ECAC weekly awards. Kevin Ipina and Raphael Moura were named the CACC Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, while Ipina and sophomore Andre Lindsay picked up ECAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. Ipina, a left back, tallied two goals and two assists. He netted both goals in a 2-1 victory over NYIT, which included the game-winning marker with 36 seconds left in regulation. He capped the week with a pair of assists in the Eagles' 3-0 CACC victory at Chestnut Hill. For the week he tallied two goals, two assists and a game-winning goal. Ipina leads the conference in assists with eight.
 
Lindsay earned his second clean sheet of the season as he wrapped up a 3-0-0 week for Post with a 3-0 win at Chestnut Hill. He also picked up one-goal victories over NYIT and Caldwell at home. For the week, Lindsay made eight saves and boasted a goals against average of 0.67.
 
Home Unbeaten Streak:
Post men's soccer is currently riding a 17-game home unbeaten streak. The Eagles are 15-0-2 during the stretch, which dates back to Sept. 2010, and they have won their last 13 of their last 14 home tilts. Last season, Post was 7-0-0 in home contests.
 
Regional Ranking:
Post moved up to fifth in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II East Region on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Over each of the last three weeks the Eagles have moved up one spot each week. Additionally, Post received votes in the NSCAA Division II Top 25.
 
In The All-Time Record Books:
On the active roster, Post boasts three of the top-four goal scorers in the program's Division II history. Senior Francis Eno (Powder Springs, Ga.) sits second all-time with 27 tallies, junior Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.) is third with 19 goals and senior Eltany Morais (Cape Verde Islands) is ranked fourth with 16 goals. The trio is chasing Eurica Trowers who netted 32 markers in his collegiate career from 2006-08.

Tuesday marks the first meeting between Post and LIU Post.
 
Scouting The Pioneers:
LIU Post is ranked third in the nation and first in the East Region. The squad sits at 14-1 on the year and it is ranked eighth in the country in scoring offense (2.93), total goals (41), and total points (113). Individually, Cemil Turan leads the Pioneers with 11 goals and Eirik Bjoernoe has posted seven assists. Defensively, Marco Jorgensen has started 14 matches and is 13-1 with four shutouts. The lone loss came to NYIT, a team Post defeated 2-1 on Oct. 9.
 
All-Time Series With Nyack:
Post is 3-7-3 against Nyack. Last season, the Warriors defeated Post in the CACC Championship game 1-0 in overtime. In home games, the Eagles are 2-3-1, and most recently defeated the Warriors 5-2 on Sept. 16, 2010.

Scouting The Warriors:
Nyack is led by Marco Likos who leads the CACC in points with 33 and is tied for first in goals with 13. Defensively, Jodel Wright leads the Warriors with 43 saves, a 1.31 goals against average and three shutouts. He has maintained a 5-4-2 record. The team enters the week with a record of 7-6-2 overall and 4-3-2 in conference contests, good for a sixth place tie in the CACC standings.

Preseason Prognostications:
The Post men's soccer team was pegged as the favorite to win the CACC in the preseason poll, which was announced by conference officials on Aug. 22. The defending regular season champions, Post was awarded four first-place votes and 127 points by the league's 12 head coaches.
 
Reigning Regular Season Champs:
Powered by an 8-2-1 conference record during the 2011 campaign, the Post men's soccer team claimed its first CACC Regular Season Title in program history. The Eagles clinched the title with a 1-0 overtime victory over Holy Family on Oct. 22, after a goal by Francis Eno (Powder Springs, Ga.) with 12 seconds remaining in the contest. Post was the top seed in the conference tournament, which it lost in the championship match.
 
Humble Tournament Hosts:
Post University will serve as the host of the 2012 CACC men's and women's soccer championship from Nov. 1-3. The women's semifinals will be held at Municipal Stadium and the men's matches will be held at LaMoy Field. The championship games will be contested at LaMoy Field. Following the quarterfinals at campus sites, the four remaining teams in both the men's and women's bracket will advance to the neutral site in Waterbury.
 
On The Horizon:
Post will host a CACC quarterfinal contest on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at LaMoy Field. The opponent is yet to be determined. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
