Sami Charaf Amal and Luis Rodrigues Named United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team from Men's Soccer, Leopold Dufaut and Agnaldo Germano Earn Second Team Honors

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Graduate midfielders Sami Charaf Amal and Luis Rodrigues headlined four Post University Men's Soccer players on the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Team released on Tuesday morning, as the duo was named to the First Team, while junior goalkeeper Leopold Dufaut and freshman defender Agnaldo Germano were named to the Second Team, as announced by the organization.

The 21st and 22nd players ever to be named to an All-Region Team for the program, Charaf Amal and Rodrigues, highlight the four recipients for the Eagles, which is the most in the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region since 2022, when Post finished with five players on the list. Rodrigues was a CACC All-Conference First Team honoree this year after playing and starting all 19 matches for Post with 10 goals and five assists for 25 total points, capping off a career in which he had 13 goals and eight assists for 34 points over his two years.

Charaf Amal came to Post this fall, also being named CACC All-Conference First Team, missing the tail end of the season due to injury, after appearing in 12 matches in which he started 10 of those with three assists for three points.

No strangers to the All-Region lists, Dufaut and Germano have had a myriad of awards already given to them this fall. Dufaut was named the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team already in addition to D2CCA All-East Region First Team. Dufaut finished the season allowing just 11 goals all year with a 0.62 goals-against average and 85 saves, finishing with seven shutouts as well as a combined shutout and a 9-2-7 record across 18 matches with 1,601 minutes of action. The junior is currently eligible to be a D2CCA All-American because of his First Team status in that organization, for which results are expected soon. He becomes the first goalie since Soren Jensen in 2023 to be named to a United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Team.

Germano was a two-time CACC Defensive Player of the Week and Weekly Honor Roll recipient, to go along with his one CACC Rookie of the Week honor and being named D2CCA All-East Region Second Team. The freshman played in 18 matches, including all 90 minutes in 14 of those affairs, totaling 1,595 minutes at the end of the season. This marks the third consecutive season in which a defender has made the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Team, as Felix Nassen was named to it the last two seasons.
