WATERBURY, Conn. -- Coming off a season in which they had their fewest wins since 2004, Post University Women's Soccer was picked to finish 11th in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Preseason Coaches' Poll released by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Looking to defend their CACC Championship in 2024, Jefferson University was picked to repeat atop the standings with 117 points and eight first-place votes, after going 19-1-3 last season and falling in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on penalty kicks against Franklin Pierce University. Caldwell University, the runner-up in 2024, was picked to finish second with 102 points and three first-place votes, while the University of Bridgeport rounded out the top three with 91 points and a first-place vote.
Head Coach
Meagan Ryan, who took over the program in February this year, will head into her first season with the program having brought in eight new players, including five freshmen and three juniors, as part of her 21-man squad. Ryan came over from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), where she served as the Assistant Coach for two seasons before taking on her first head coaching position with the Eagles.
Last season, Post finished with a 2-13 record, going 2-9 in conference play with wins over Felician University and Lincoln University, but only scored 18 goals across those 15 games, with half of those games in three combined games.
Alyssa Hebb, who led the team in goals with eight, graduated in the spring, while junior forward
Jordyn Calas enters her third season after scoring three goals and adding three assists in 2024. Graduate defender
Alyanna Beaudoin is the only other multi-goal scorer back with the team, as she finished last season with two goals.
After three scrimmages spanning from the end of August into early September, the Eagles kick off the 2025 season with a home matchup against Saint Michael's College on Sunday, September 7th at noon on LaMoy Field. Conference play for Post will open against defending champion Jefferson on September 20th on the road, while the first home conference game will be on September 30th at 7:00 PM against Dominican (N.Y.) in the first regular season home game under the new lights for the program.
