WATERBURY, Conn. -- Although the season may not have gone as one would have hoped for Post University Women's Soccer, there were a few bright spots throughout the 2023 season and another one was adding on Tuesday morning as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference released their major award winners and All-Conference team. For the Eagles, that list would see senior defender
Amber McGee and senior forward
Hailey McGee named Second Team All-Conference.
For
Hailey McGee, who will go down as arguably one of the best players to touch the pitch for the program, her career closes after scoring 26 career goals and registering 14 career assists. In her final season as an Eagle where she earned those Second Team honors, McGee finished with just three goals and four assists coming off a year in which she scored 13 times and helped out on five additional goals for Post. She would appear in all 16 matches for Post, playing in 1,142 total minutes, and near single-handedly beating Dominican (N.Y.) at home earlier this year with her two-goal game in which the Eagles would tie at two.
For her sister,
Amber McGee, it would be a career year for her as the defender went for a team-leading and career-high six goals and career-high two assists for a total of 14 points on the season. McGee also appeared in all 16 matches of the Eagles' season, missing not even a minute on the pitch for a grand total of 1,440 minutes and being the only Post player to hold that honor as junior forward
Alyssa Hebb finished just short of the mark with 1,434 minutes on the year. McGee closed the year scoring in three of the final four matches the Eagles played and had the game-winning goal at Felician University which capped the season off with a 2-1 win for Post.
