Waterbury, Conn. – After a 2-0 week, the Post University women's soccer team had two members earn Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) awards as Hailey McGee was named Player of the Week and Imelda Lazaro was named Goalkeeper of the Week.
The Eagles defeated Queens on September 6, 3-1 on the road before opening up CACC play with a 1-0 win over Holy Family.
In the win over Queens, McGee scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 77th minute to give the Eagles the 2-1 lead at the time. It was the second game this season McGee scored two goals in a game. In goal, Lazaro stopped four shots for her first win in net this season.
Against Holy Family, McGee scored her second game-winner of the week in the 49th minute. Lazaro earned her first shutout of the season and fourth in her career, stopping six shots on the day.
McGee currently is tied for the CACC lead in goals with five and leads the conference in points with 11. Lazaro is second in the CACC in saves with 32.
