Waterbury, CT – Post University women's soccer players
Hailey McGee and
Amber McGee were named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) team as announced by the conference on Monday.
Hailey – a forward - was named to the first team, while Amber– a defender - was named to the second team.
It is the first All-CACC nod for the twin sisters, who helped lead the Eagles to a third seed in the conference this season after finishing the regular season at 9-8-1 overall and 7-4-1 in the CACC.
Hailey put together one of the best offensive seasons in program history, scoring 12 goals to go along with four assists for 28 points on the season. Her 12 goals tied her for third in the CACC, while she finished the season fourth in points. She also led the CACC in game-winning goals with six.
Hailey also had four multi-goal games, including two in a thrilling 2-1 win over Bloomfield on September 21 where she scored the game-winner with six seconds remaining. McGee also had game-winning goals against Queens, Holy Family, Goldey-Beacom, Wilmington and Felician.
Her 12 goals this season was the most by a Post University player since Renel Dennis scored 17 in the 2014 season. She is also the first Eagle to make the All-CACC First Team since Katharina Mertz in the 2017 season.
Amber was part of a strong defensive back-line that gave up just 16 goals in CACC play and just 28 overall.
Amber also had two goals on the year, including an improbable bicycle kick in the 42
nd minute in a 1-0 win over D'Youville on September 13. She also netted a goal in the Eagles' final regular season game of the year in a 3-2 win over Dominican, which clinched the third seed and a first round CACC Tournament home game.
The McGees are the first pair of sisters in school history to be named to the All-CACC team.
It's also the first time multiple players made the All-CACC team since 2015 when the Eagles had four members make the team.
