Waterbury, Conn. - The offensive juggernaut known as the Post University women's soccer team, plays two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents this week as it takes on Dominican in a home matchup on September 23 at 4 p.m., and a road contest at Holy Family at noon. The Eagles currently sit at 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the CACC, tying them for first in the conference with Georgian Court.

The Week That Was
The Eagles played just one game this past week, but, boy, did they ever make the most of it. Senior Renel Dennis (Queens, N.Y.) scored four goals and freshman Sam Rodriguez (Wayne, N.J.) tallied her first career goal as Post made quick work of Goldey-Beacom on September 20.

The four goals by Dennis was the second straight game she scored three or more goals. Her nine goals thus far on the season leads the CACC by four over the closest competitor. She has also outscored 10 teams in the CACC. Dennis is also first in points with 19.

Post has also dominated on the defensive end, allowing just two goals all season. The Eagles are outscoring their opponents, 17-2.

Scouting Dominican
The Chargers are currently sixth in the conference at 1-3-2 overall and 1-1-2 in the CACC. Offensively, senior Melissa Messina is their catalyst, leading the team with two goals on the season. In their last game, the Chargers played to a 0-0 draw against Caldwell. Sophomore Gina Yannette was impressive in goal, stopping all 13 shots on goal by Caldwell.

Overall, the head-to-head series  between Post and Dominican has been tight, as Post trails 5-6-2 overall, including dropping a 2-0 decision on the road last season. Here is a look at some of the most recent results between the teams:

Scouting Holy Family
Holy Family comes into the game as the defending regular season champions and were predicted at the beginning of the season to repeat as such. The Tigers currently sit in fourth place, with a 4-3-0 overall record and a 3-1-0 record in the CACC. Sophomore Ashley Shackleford leads the Tigers with five goals on the season, which is also good enough for second in the conference. She is third in conference in points with 11. Shackleford notched a hat trick in a 7-0 win over Bloomfield. Kimber Kisselback also scored twice for the Tigers.

After losing its first 11 games all-time against Holy Family, Post notched its first win against the Tigers last season in a 3-2 win at LaMoy Field. Senior Tessa Dunster (Stamford, Conn.) scored two goals in that game. Sophomore Sylvia Yanez (West Haven, Conn.) scored the game winner in the 61st minute.
