Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University women's soccer team looks to keep its goal scoring barrage going as it takes on Goldey-Beacom on Saturday at LaMoy Field in Waterbury. The Eagles have outscored their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents 11-0 so far in just two games, and are 2-0 for the first time in the conference since 2006.

The Week That Was
On September 10, the Eagles dominated defending CACC tournament champions Caldwell, 5-0 at LaMoy Field. Freshman Katharina Mertz (Buxtehude, Germany) scored in just the second minute of the game to set the tone. Senior Renel Dennis (Queens, N.Y.) scored two goals while junior Lexxi Carroll (Plainville, Conn.) had a goal and an assist. Senior Brina Yanez (West Haven, Conn.) scored in the second half.

On September 13, it was more of the same as the Eagles (3-1, 2-0 CACC) triumphed over Chestnut Hill, 6-0 thanks to a hat trick in the first 21 minutes of the game by Dennis. Mertz and Yanez both scored again, as well as senior Eryka Baez (Clifton, N.J.), who notched her first goal of the season.

Dennis Honored
With her five goals in two games, Dennis was named CACC player of the week. It was the second time in her career she received the honor.

A Look At The Lightning
Goldey-Beacom currently sits at 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in the CACC. In its last game, the Lightning dropped a 2-1 decision to Caldwell on September 14. Senior Nicole Curry scored the lone goal for the Lightning. Aside from Curry, junior Megan Harvis is someone to watch for. She had a goal and an assist in the Lightning's first game of the season,a 2-0 win over the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

Overall, the Eagles hold a 7-6 series edge over the Lightning, but have won seven of the last eight games, including a 3-0 win on the road last season. Here is a look at the most recent results between the teams.
