WATERBURY, Conn. -Â The Post University women's volleyball team begins Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play this week as it travels to Bloomfield, N.J. on Tuesday, Sept. 16 to take on Bloomfield, first serve set for 7 p.m. The very next day the Eagles fly home to host Nyack in their home opener at the Drubner Center Wednesday, Sept. 17. This conference match is also scheduled for 7 p.m.

Scouting the OppositionThus far, Bloomfield owns a 3-5 record on the season, having recently played in the ESU Warrior Invitational going 2-2 in the tournament. Nyack is currently winless on the year with a 0-7 record. The Nyack Warriors were picked to finish second in the CACC North Division in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bloomfield Bears were predicted to finish fourth in North Division, collecting just two more points (49) than Post.

All-Time Series vs. BloomfieldSince Post joined the CACC in 2002, the Eagles and the Bloomfield Bears have become familiar opponents, facing off 29 times in total. Bloomfield holds the series record with 19 wins, however, Post has gotten the better of the Bears as of late, sweeping Bloomfield three sets to none in the past four meetings.

Back-To-BackIn each of the first two weeks of the season
Skylar German has been named the CACC Player of the Week. She is the first Eagle to earn the honor since 2007. This year, German leads the Eagles in kills (88), hitting percentage (.414), service aces (11), and total blocks (26). She is also in the top five in the conference in all four categories. In Post's victory over Clark Atlanta on Sept. 13 she recorded the second-highest hitting percentage in CACC history at .800 (12 kills, 15 attacks, 0 errors).

Approaching MilestonesJulia Slyaktina enters the weekend with 1,855 assists in her career, good for fourth all-time. She is just one of four players to record over 1,000 career assists and just 488 assists away from Desere Obregon for third place all-time. The senior recorded 753 assists a year ago.Â
Emily Wilman could become just the third player to join the 1,000 kill-1,000 dig club this season. She sits 165 kills and 97 digs away from the milestone.

Preseason PrognosticationsThe Post volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the CACC North Division in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles earned 47 points, just two behind fourth-place Bloomfield. Caldwell and Wilmington were picked atop the North and South Divisions, respectively.

On The HorizonThe Eagles are on the road again next week, as they travel to Springfield, Mass. to take on American International College in a non-conference match on Tuesday Sept. 23. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
