HOW IT HAPPENED
The Caldwell Cougars stole the first two sets on their home court at Newman Center Wednesday evening after 14 combined kills from Marley Rudolph and Meredith Gatz, but it was the Eagles who remained relentless, taking three straight sets to continue their win streak, remaining perfect over their last four games.
In set three, Karagoz had four kills herself, breathing life back into her Eagles teammates, while consistent serving from Kelsea Moore and Elyana Ortiz strengthened the Eagles' momentum and they closed the set, 25-22, after almost relinquishing their lead amidst an 8-0 Caldwell run.
In set five, six different Eagles slammed kills, led by Kata Kovacs with three, as persistent defense from Moore and the Eagles' back row kept their lead. Freshman middle blocker Lilly Josephson had a season-high eight kills, dedicated to contributing to Post's success.
WHO'S NEXT
The Eagles will host non-conference opponent Adelphi University Thursday at 6 p.m. at Drubner Athletic Center.
