WATERBURY, Conn. (Oct. 16, 2026) -- Eagles Volleyball won its third-straight match and second-straight five-setter within the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference this evening against Wilmington University (Del.), bringing their record to 4-5 in conference play.
THE BASICS
Post 3, Wilmington 2
Wilmington: 7-16 (5-5 CACC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Rolling off momentum from the last two games, Alani Duncan and Duru Karagoz began the first set for the Eagles with back-to-back kills before a service run from sophomore transfer Kelsea Moore head-started the Eagles, 9-1. The heavy-hitting trio of Duncan, Karagoz and Lilly Chavez combined for ten of their team's 14 first set kills, and the Eagles conquered the set, 25-21.
In a back-and-forth second set, Post pulled within one point of winning with the Wildcats trailing by two, but this time it was Wilmington's own Liani Sierra and Addison Hoover finishing the task at hand, Hoover scoring the Wildcats' last three points of the set and equalizing the match for her team in a 28-26 outing.
The third set was all Wilmington as they jumped to a 19-9 lead. Sierra assisted on seven third set kills, but the Eagles' own attack errors concluded the third set, 12-25.
In the fourth set, each team traded scoring runs until Wilmington finally went ahead 22-20, but a Wildcats service error returned the serve to Post, and Chavez headed to the back line, bringing Post within one. Coming in clutch, Duncan slapped her name on three of the last four points, with back-to-back kills of her own and the popular Karagoz-Duncan block, ultimately tying the match at two sets apiece.
The Eagles' flawless final set volleyball propelled them to their third-straight win, attacking at a .462 clip. Twelve of the team's 15 set points came from their own kills as setter duo Catelina Luzader and Grace Tucker placed perfect balls at the net for their hitters, and the Eagles would go on to win their third straight match.
WHO'S NEXT
As they near the final chapter of their season, the Eagles will head to New Jersey Wednesday, October 21 at 6 p.m. to take on Caldwell, the team that gave them their first CACC win this season, 3-1.
