13 kills and seven blocks from Duncan boost Eagles to five-set victory at Dominican (N.Y.)

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. (Oct. 13, 2026) -- Eagles Volleyball defeated Dominican University of New York Tuesday night on the road in a five-set thriller, claiming their second victory in a row behind a monster game from Alani Duncan.

DUNY: 6-7 (4-4 CACC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead behind three-straight service aces from senior transfer Kata Kovacs, giving Post the momentum on the road. In the first set, the Eagles had 12 team kills, attacking at a .300 clip. Seven of those kills came from the trio of Kovacs, Lilly Chavez and Alani Duncan. Duncan and Duru Karagoz split a block to end the first set, 25-18, but, unfortunately for the Chargers, persistent defense from the Eagles at the net wouldn't end there.

The Eagles would later drop the second and fourth sets, but claimed the third as their own after two block assists from the Karagoz-Duncan duo wreaked havoc on the Chargers' line of attack, and back-to-back kills from Karagoz ended the set in extra points, 26-24.

After the fourth set ended 26-24 in favor of their opposition, Tiffany Verni's Eagles squad refused to back down in unfamiliar territory. Duncan smashed down four kills in the fifth and final set, joined by a pair of powerful kills from Vivien Andrea Fehervari to put the Eagles on top, sweetly sealing the deal, 15-9.

Duncan asserted dominance with 13 kills, stamping her name on seven of the team's nine total blocks.

WHO'S NEXT

The Eagles will return to the Drubner Center on the campus of Post University on Friday, October 16 at 3:00 p.m. to host Wilmington University (Del.). Post controls a two-game winning streak against the Wildcats who currently sit in fourth place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's South Division and are 3-2 over their last five games.
