WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's lacrosse team looks to snap its six game losing streak on Wednesday afternoon as it visits East Coast Conference (ECC) opponent Mercy at 3 p.m. The Eagles are beginning a four game road trip.

Kyle Shannon (Stanhope, N.J.) got the Eagles on the board with 5:00 remaining in the first half on an extra-man opportunity. He added another with 2:10 left as Post trailed 8-2 at halftime.
Shannon added his third score of the day with under a minute remaining in the third quarter off an assist from sophomore
Shane McKay (Hempstead, N.Y.) to make the score 14-5 through three periods. Freshman
Tim Wright (Waterloo, N.Y.) scored the Eagles' final goal with 5:50 left in the game.
Scouting The MavericksMercy is 6-3 on the season but 0-3 in the ECC. Last time out the Mavericks fell to No. 12 Chestnut Hill 6-5 in overtime. Mercy is led by Jesse Wood who leads the NCAA with 29 goals scored and is sixth in the country at 2.22 assists per game. The Mavericks are in the top-5 in the nation in face-off winning percentage (second - .672), ground balls per game (fifth - 40.0), and caused turnovers per game (fifth – 10.78).
Flying With A Young SquadThe Eagles young roster is comprised of just nine upperclassmen led by team captains, juniors Brian Baatson (Fairfax, Va.),
Matt Edwin (Stamford, Conn.),
Andrew Supanich (Jackson, Va.); and senior
Angel Lastra (Wharton, N.J.). Freshman defender
Jack Kearney (Sandy Hook, Conn.) is also a captain.
Playing Some of the BestThe Eagles will be playing some tough competition in their first season. Post has games scheduled with three teams ranked in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Preseason Top 15. The Eagles are at Dowling (No. 10) on April 9 and Chestnut Hill (No. 15) on April 15. Post will host No. 6 NYIT in its season finale on April 25.
Northeast ClassicOn Oct. 12, the Eagles participated in the Northeast Classic Lacrosse Tournament and played exhibition games against Southern New Hampshire, New England College, and St. Michael's. All proceeds from the tournament were donated to cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Mass.
