WATERBURY, Conn. –The Post University women's volleyball team prepares for two ever important Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games this week as the postseason nears just two weeks away. The Eagles will travel to Caldwell, N.J. to take on the Cougars of Caldwell University for their second meeting of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. Post will turn around and host the Bears of Bloomfield College at the Drubner Center Thursday, Oct. 30 for their second meeting of the season. First serve is set for 7 p.m.

Scouting the OppositionCaldwell will enter the week at 11-3 in the CACC, sitting atop the North Division one spot better than Post. The Cougars are 16-8 on the season and are recently coming off of a loss to Georgian Court. Senior Jaclyn Del Cid (Bogota, N.J.) was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Week last week and will be an impact player for Caldwell. The senior libero has recorded 481 digs on the season and ranks second in the CACC in digs per set (5.53).

Bloomfield will enter the week at 9-5 in the CACC, knotted in a second place tie in the North Division with Post. The Bears are 13-11 thus far on the season and are recently coming off of a loss to Chestnut Hill. Bloomfield will lean on first-year Samantha Rios (Juncos, P.R.) to make a difference defensively. Rios has tallied 467 digs on the season and ranks third in the CACC in digs per set (5.31).

All-Time Series vs. CaldwellThe Eagles haven't fared well against the Cougars in the all-time series, recording just four wins in 17 total meetings. The 13 losses have come consecutively, including a defeat just a week ago. The Eagles will look to get even with the Cougars on the road in their second meeting of the season.

All-Time Series vs. BloomfieldThe Bears hold the advantage in the all-time series as the Eagle are 10-20 against the CACC opponent. In their first meeting this season, Bloomfield defeated Post in four sets in Bloomfield, N.J. The Eagles have performed better at home at 7-7 and will seek revenge at the Drubner Center in their second meeting.

Skylar German (Kansas City, Mo.) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week on Wednesday, Oct. 8. It's the first time this season she has achieved the honor. In three matches the week prior, German recorded team highs in kills (43), blocks (11), and hitting percentage (.458). Against Concordia, she had 12 kills on 19 attacks and no errors for an impressive .632 hitting percentage. It marked the fourth time this year she's hit over .600 in a game. In the Eagles' 3-2 loss to Dominican, German had 17 kills, 11 digs, and five blocks.

CACC LeadersThis season, German leads the CACC with a .373 hitting percentage and ranks eighth in Division II in the category. She has also jumped to first place in blocks per set in the CACC averaging 0.94. Senior
Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) leads the CACC in assists per set averaging 10.10. Slyaktina also ranks second in service aces per set (0.60) in the CACC and ranks seventh in Division II in the category.

Julia Slyaktina who tallied 42 assists against the Cougars on Oct. 22 and passed Desere Obregon for sole possession of third place in all-time assists at Post! Thus far, Slyaktina has recorded 2,461 career assists.
Taylor Doyle ranks second all-time with 3,102.

Emily Wilman (Perth Amboy, N.J.) could become just the third player to join the 1,000 kill-1,000 dig club this season. She sits 19 kills away from the milestone.

Preseason PrognosticationsThe Post volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the CACC North Division in the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles earned 47 points, just two behind fourth-place Bloomfield. Caldwell and Wilmington were picked atop the North and South Divisions, respectively.

On The HorizonThe Eagles will host the remaining three CACC games of the season at the Drubner Center. Post will face the Clippers of Concordia College for their second meeting of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. The Golden Falcons of Felician College will come to town on Wednesday, Nov. 5 for a 7 p.m. start. The Eagles will round out their regular season facing the Tigers of Holy Family University on Saturday, Nov. 8. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
