WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University women's volleyball team will begin the 2013 season with a non-conference match against Queens College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Drubner Center. Post looks to build off of an improved 2012 season, where the Eagles finished 10-18 overall and 9-10 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), making another appearance in the conference tournament.
Preseason Projections:
On Friday, Aug. 23, the Post University volleyball team was chosen to finish fourth in the North Division in the CACC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles, guided by seventh-year head coach
Michael Brienza, notched 55 points in the poll. Caldwell was picked to win the North Division with 91 points and nine first place votes, and Wilmington was selected to take the South Division. Defending CACC Regular Season and Tournament Champions, Dominican, were picked to finish second in the North.

With Queens:
Post and Queens will meet for the third time since the 2007 season. The Eagles are 0-2 all-time against the Knights. Queens prevailed 3-0 in both prior matches.

Serve It Up:
Junior
Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) returns to Post after finishing the 2012 season as one of the top servers in the country. Slyaktina finished with 0.62 aces per set last season, good for seventh in NCAA Division II.
Rocky Start:
Post hasn't been able to win a season-opening match since the 2005 campaign. Last season, the Eagles fell to Southern Connecticut State 3-0 in the season-opener. Post is 4-7 in season-opening matches since becoming a Division II program back in 2002.
On the Horizon:
The Eagles will play three matches next week. Post plays Molloy at home on Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. The team opens CACC play on the road against Nyack on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. and hosts Franklin Pierce on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m.
