Post Gives Holy Family First CACC Loss Of The Season

Dunster Scores Twice

Box Score

Waterbury, Conn. - Tessa Dunster (Stemford, Conn.) did what no other Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference team could do and Sylvia Yanez (West Haven, Conn.) scored the game winner as the Post Eagles defeated Holy Family, 3-2 at LaMoy Field on Sunday in Waterbury, Conn.

The Tigers came in having not allowed a goal in CACC play, outscoring conference opponents, 14-0.

Holy Family got on the board first as Ursula Coyle took a cross from Lisa Abramski and put it past Grace McConnell (Leeds, England) to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead at the 10th minute.

In the 12th, the Eagles retaliated, as Dunster took a pass from Valerie Moore (Bloomfield, Conn.) and easily put it in past goalkeeper Sienna Smith to tie the game, 1-1.

Moore and Dunster teamed up again for another goal eight minutes later as Moore's shot was stopped by Smith, but right to Dunster who put it to the back of the left side of the net. It was Dunster's fourth goal of the season.

In the 23rd minute, the Tigers would respond as Ashley Shackleford sent a cross into the penalty box and Ursula Coyle put it home.

The offense stopped for the next 39 minutes before freshman Sylvia Yanez bent a shot from the left side of the net and curled it in over the head of Smith for her first career goal.

McConnell finished with seven saves for the Eagles, including several in the last few minutes of the game as the Tigers went on the attack, but to no avail.

Up next for the Eagles is Molloy in an out of conference game at 3 p.m. at LaMoy Field.
