WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's soccer team plays two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matches this week, highlighted by a rematch of the 2012 CACC Championship game. The Eagles head Dominican on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. and return home on Sunday against Holy Family at 3 p.m.

Senior
Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.) scored two goals as the Eagles crushed Goldey-Beacom 3-0 on Saturday in Wilmington, Del. Post once again outshot its opponent by a large margin, holding a 21-6 advantage on the day.
Junior
Terrell Whitting (Naugatuck, Conn.) played the ball up to Baccielo, who knocked it past his defender on one side as he ran to the other. He got the ball back and shot to the far side past the keeper for the first goal.

Baccielo was fouled in the zone and was awarded a penalty kick which he was successful on to put Post ahead 3-0 early in the second half.
Scouting the Chargers
Dominican enters the week at 4-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play and has won its last three times out. The Chargers are paced by Lukas Nordin and Manuel Valencia who have scored two goals each. In goal, Andre Ruiz has a 0.97 goals against average and has recorded four shutouts on the year. Domincan was picked second behind Post in the CACC Preseason Poll.

Overall, Post is 2-10-1 against Dominican and 1-5 on the road since 2002. Last season, the Eagles won the regular-season matchup but fell 3-2 in a penalty shootout in the CACC Championship Game.

Scouting the Tigers
Holy Family is 2-3-1 overall and 2-1 in the CACC. The Tigers defeated Bloomfield 1-0 their last time out. Sophomore Aiah Mbriwa leads Holy Family with two goals and an assist on the year. In the NCAA Division II rankings as of Sept. 15, goalkeeper Nick Aglira leads the country with 30 saves.

Senior goalkeeper Andre Lindsey (Clarendon, Jamaica) has allowed just one goal this season and recorded shutouts in each of Post's four victories. He leads the conference in save percentage (.929), goals against average (0.19) and shutouts (4). As of the most-recent NCAA report, he is 14
th in the nation in goals against average and 18
th in save percentage.
Creating Chances
Post has outshot its opponents 75-48 this season, including a 57-18 margin in its three CACC games. The Eagles held a 17-5 advantage against Chestnut Hill, 19-7 against Concordia, and 21-6 versus Goldey-Beacom. Post does most of its damage in the first half as it holds a 34-11 shot advantage in the opening period this year. The Eagles lead the CACC with 15.0 shots per game.
Jumping Into The National Spotlight
The Eagles were ranked No. 12 spot in the Sept. 10 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll after its victory over Southern New Hampshire. It's was highest ranking for the team in school history. Post has been ranked in each of the last three seasons with its previous high coming at No. 18 in 2011. Currently, the Eagles are ranked fourth in the East Region.

Andre Lindsay (Clarendon, Jamaica) was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week. Lindsay was also named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Home Sweet Home
Post is unbeaten in 22 of its last 23 home games. The Eagles are 18-1-4, have outscored opponents 49-12 and posted seven shutouts over the stretch. The lone defeat during the stretch came against Chestnut Hill on Sept. 15. Post is also unbeaten in 13 of its last 14 regular season conference games.

Senior
Joe Baccielo is within striking distance of several career records. He sits at 25 goals, 7 behind Eurica Trowers' record of 32. Baccielo is also five back of Johan Pineda with 13 career assists and six behind Maurice Johnson with 63 points. Senior

Eagles Against Nationally Ranked Opponents
Post picked up its first-ever win against a nationally ranked team on Sept. 5 in a 1-0 victory over No. 7 Southern New Hampshire. It was the third time the Eagles squared off against an NSCAA Top 25 team. Post has two more games against a nationally ranked opponent this season on Oct. 5 against No. 21 on the road and on Oct. 23 against No. 2 LIU-Post at home.

Ted Haley was honored as conference coach of the year. Additionally, the team received the NSCAA Team Academic Award and placed three on the CACC All-Academic Team.
Tough Slate Ahead
The Eagles will play a 16-match schedule that features matchups with five of the top eight teams in the East Region in 2012 and three NCAA Tournament participants. Post opens the season on the road against Southern New Hampshire on Sept. 5. On Sept. 25, Post plays Dominican on the road in a rematch of the 2012 CACC Championship game. LIU-Post makes its first-ever appearance at LaMoy Field on Oct. 23. The Pioneers were ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA Poll after beginning the 2012 season 12-0-0.
Preseason Prognostications
The Post men's soccer team was tabbed to finish first in the CACC in the Preseason Poll released on Aug. 20. The Eagles received seven first-place votes and 157 points as voted on by the league's 13 head coaches. Post is also ranked 33
rd in the nation according to BennettRank. The Eagles are third in the East Region behind LIU-Post (4) and Southern New Hampshire (11), both of whom Post plays this season.

The Eagles are on the road all next week with two conference matchups. Post heads to Caldwell on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m. The Eagles are in Wilmington against the No. 21 Wildcats on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m.
