WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post Eagles volleyball team has three matches this week including a weekend tournament. First, Post hosts Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Bloomfield on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Drubner Center. The Eagles then travel to Merrimack College for the Merrimack Tournament. The Eagles' first match of the tournament is against host Merrimack on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. followed by a contest with Southern New Hampshire at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept 21, both of which will be played at Bert Hammel Court in North Andover, M.A.
Bloomfield is currently 0-4 on the season, last falling at Le Moyne 3-2. This will be the first CACC match this season for the Deacons. Merrimack is 1-6 thus far this season, picking up its first win at Molloy on Saturday, Sept. 14. Southern New Hampshire is 3-1 on the season. The Penmen beat Saint Anselm 3-2 the last time out.

Emily Wilman (Perth Amboy, N.J.) and freshman
Morgan Griffin (Plainfield, Conn.) combined for 24 kills and 20 digs. The Eagles held late leads in both the second and third sets, but it was not enough to overcome Saint Anselm.
Junior
Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) notched a season-high 32 assists along with seven digs and a service ace. Freshman
Nicole Brown (Queens, N.Y.) added six kills and two blocks for the Eagles.

Post has done very well against CACC opponent Bloomfield as of late. The Eagles topped the Deacons 3-0 in both matches last season. In the last eight meetings, Post has a 5-3 record against Bloomfield. Post is 6-7 all-time against Bloomfield at home.

EAGLES AMONG LEADERS:
Emily Wilman currently leads the CACC with 3.88 kills per set. Wilman had a game-high 13 kills in Post's last outing against Saint Anselm.
Morgan Griffin is also among CACC leaders, sitting in ninth place in the conference with 2.81 kills per set. The freshman had 11 kills against Saint Anselm.
Nicole Brown is fourth in the conference with 0.81 blocks per set and she is also fifth in the CACC with a .308 hitting percentage.
PRESEASON PROJECTIONS:
On Friday, Aug. 23, the Post University volleyball team was chosen to finish fourth in the North Division in the CACC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles, guided by seventh-year head coach
Michael Brienza, notched 55 points in the poll. Caldwell was picked to win the North Division with 91 points and nine first place votes, and Wilmington was selected to take the South Division. Defending CACC Regular Season and Tournament Champions, Dominican, were picked to finish second in the North.
CLIMBING THE RANKS:
Julia Slyaktina is currently fourth in program history with 982 assists. Slyaktina had a season-high 32 assists against Saint Anselm in the Eagles' last outing. She is currently fourth in the CACC with 7.31 assists per set. Slyaktina is also sixth in the conference with 0.50 service aces per set.
NOT IN MY HOUSE:
Senior
Stephanie Zarakas (Patterson, N.Y.) moved into ninth place all-time in Post history after recording the Eagles' season opener against Queens. She now has 83 career block assists and needs eight more to reach
Kelli Reynolds for eighth. Zarakas is currently ninth in the conference with 0.67 blocks per set.
