Volleyball Rallies To Defeat USciences, 3-2

Three Eagles Record Double-Digit Kills In Victory

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – After falling in the first two sets 13-25 and 19-25, the Eagles volleyball team responded by winning the last three sets at USciences; 25-22, 25-11, and 16-14; on Saturday afternoon. With the victory, Post has won two consecutive matches for the first time this season and now stands at 5-9 overall and 4-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.

 

The Eagles had three players with double-digit kills, led by senior Kelly Hayes (South Orange, N.J.) with a season-high 13. Graduate student Kelli Reynolds (Stamford, Conn.) recorded 12 kills. Junior Emily Wilman (Perth Amboy, N.J.) had double-digit kills for the third consecutive match with 11 on the afternoon. Wilman also recorded a game-high 20 digs.

 

Sophomore Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) notched a season-high 43 assists and had two service aces. Junior Stephanie Zarakas (Patterson, N.Y.) recorded one block solo and two block assists.

 

USciences (8-8, 3-3 CACC) had 15 services aces on the afternoon. Caitlyn Crawford and Kaileen Bevenour had five and four, respectively.

 

Post recorded season-highs in kills (55), attacks (155), assists (48), and digs (75) in the victory. It was the Eagles first road win against USciences since 2004.
