Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Post University men's soccer team had its seven game unbeaten streak snapped at the hands of #15 Southern New Hampshire on Saturday night at Larkin Field. Despite an early lead for the Eagles, the host Penmen scored the final four goals in the non-conference contest. The final score was 4-1.
Freshman
Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) netted his second goal in as many games for Post (5-2-2). Senior
Korab Muaremi (Danbury, Conn.) assisted on the Moura tally for his first point of the year.
Moura gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 10
th minute. Muaremi played a ball over the top of the defense that was chased down by Moura. He finished the play from inside the 18-yard box.
However, Southern New Hampshire (8-1) scored two goals over a span of 2:46 to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. The Penmen got goals from Chris Tsonis at the 30:14 mark, while Chris Pereira scored the eventual game-winner with 12 minutes to play in the opening half.
Southern New Hampshire, which has won its last four games and is ranked third in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) East Region, added two insurance tallies in the second half to put the game out of reach.
For the match, Post was outshot 30-9 and Southern New Hampshire held a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore
Andre Lindsay (Clarendon, Jamaica) made a career-high 10 saves in the loss.
Post will wrap up a three-game road swing with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Bloomfield on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
