HOW IT HAPPENED

In the first half of action at LaMoy Field, the Eagles struggled to get an accurate shot off, unable to record a single shot on goal. On the contrary, the visiting Penmen aggressively fired eight shots toward the net of Francisco Pinochet, half of them saved by the Eagles' starting keeper.

Eventually, in the 35th minute, Alejo Caceres dribbled the ball toward the left side of Pinochet's net. With two Eagles defenders closing in on him, he sent a cross to the middle of the field, allowing teammate Inigo Burusco to fire a shot, rapidly halted by Pinochet's outstretched foot before ricocheting back in the perfect position for Caceres to fire a shot off the rebound, the ball making its way directly into the Eagles' net.

Starting the second half in net for the Eagles, Tiago Filipe made his first collegiate appearance, but the strength of the Penmen proved to be too much for the Eagles.

Completing his second assist of the game, Burusco passed the ball to the penalty box where his teammate, Miguel Gimeno, lay in wait, already on the move toward Filipe and the Eagles' defense. Filipe attempted the save, but Gimeno ultimately converted for Southern New Hampshire in the 62nd minute.

The Eagles stayed hungry for a score, firing five more shots at Garcia, but still unable to find the target. The Penmen did not take another shot on goal for the rest of the half.

WHO'S NEXT

The Eagles will travel to Wilmington University (Del.) Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Wildcats have already clinched a CACC playoff berth and are winners of six straight games. Their last loss came September 16 to Queens College (N.Y.).
