The Eagles volleyball team takes on three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponents this week. Post matches up at Dominican on Tuesday at 7 p.m. They return home on Friday against Bloomfield at 7 p.m. The Eagles are in Philadelphia against USciences on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Dominican currently leads the CACC North Division with an overall record of 8-7 and 4-0 in conference play. The Chargers are one of three teams still undefeated in the conference. Dominican is coming off a 3-1 victory against Georgian Court. They are fourth in the CACC with 94 service aces, led by Whitney Ranger with 22.
 
Bloomfield is on a five-match losing streak after beginning the season with a victory against Mercy. They are 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the conference. The Deacons are sixth in the CACC in blocks during conference games.
 
USciences is 6-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Devils were defeated by Caldwell 3-2 in their last CACC game. They are near the top of the conference in all statistical categories. Kaileen Bevenour is second in the CACC with 445 assists.

The Eagles fell to Holy Family 3-0 on Saturday, Sept. 22. It was their first CACC loss of the season.
Senior Kelly Hayes (South Orange, N.J.) led Post with eight kills on the afternoon. Sophomore Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) had 19 assists. Graduate student Vanessa Ramos (Milford, Conn.) chipped in with two service aces and six digs.

1,000 DIGS FOR THE CAPTAIN
Senior captain Kelly Hayes (South Orange, N.J.) recorded 11 digs at Franklin Pierce on Sept. 15 to give her 1,000 for her career. Hayes became the seventh student-athlete in Post history to reach the 1,000-dig milestone.  Coming into the week, she sits at 1,007 digs and is 12 behind Courtney McGinnis (2001-04) for sixth on the all-time list.
 
EAGLES AMONG CACC LEADERS
Sophomore Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) and Hayes are both averaging .46 service aces per set, good for third in the conference. Slyaktina is ninth in the conference with 263 assists. The Eagles as a team are fourth in the CACC with 1.89 service aces per set.
 
PRESEASON PROGNOSTICATIONS:
Post was selected to finish fourth in the CACC North Division in the Aug. 24 poll. The Eagles garnered 55 votes. Caldwell was picked first in the North with 95 votes, while Holy Family was chosen first in the South with 94 votes. Each received 11 first-place nods.
 
BRIENZA NAMES HIS CAPTAIN:
Sixth-year head coach Michael Brienza named senior Kelly Hayes (South Orange, N.J.) the 2012 team captain. Last season, she ranked second on the team in digs with 256, and was the team leader in digs during the 2010 season with 303.
