Eno’s Hat Trick Helps Post To 3-3 Draw At Philadelphia

Senior Nets Second Hat Trick By Post Player This Season

PHILADELPHIA – In its second double overtime match in as many contests, the Post University men's soccer team earned a 3-3 draw in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon. Senior Francis Eno (Powder Springs, Ga.) scored all three goals for the Eagles to mark the second hat trick by a Post player this season.
 
Eno gave Post (2-1-2, 0-0-2 CACC) the lead three times in the match; however, the Eagles could not hold Philadelphia at bay. He led all players with five shots, three goals and six points in the match.
 
Post got on the board in the third minute of the match as Eno finished a feed from junior forward Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.). The shot came from eight yards out and gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Baccielo's assist extended his point scoring streak to four consecutive games.
 
However, the Rams tied the score at 1-1 in at the 41:58 mark. David Lawrence scored after a corner kick was served into the box by Sean Crossland.
 
Eno gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute after he stole the ball from Philadelphia (3-0-3, 1-0-2 CACC) goalkeeper Neil Kwiatkowski and finished into an empty net.
 
With the score level at 2-2, Eno completed the hat trick in the 83rd minute as he found the back of the net from 35 yards out. Senior Matt Luis (Naugatuck, Conn.) recorded the assist. Kyle Ferrier scored the equalizer for the Rams 3:52 later on a shot from 12 yards to arrive at the 3-3 final score.
 
In the match, Post was outshot 18-13, and Philadelphia held a 12-3 advantage on corner kicks. With the draw, the Eagles extended their unbeaten streak to four matches.
 
Post's next match will be on Tuesday, Sept. 18, when it hosts Dominican in a CACC contest at LaMoy Field. The Eagles will put their 11-match home unbeaten streak on the line when the Chargers visit Waterbury. The opening touch is slated for 3 p.m. Admission to all Post soccer matches is FREE and open to the public.
