NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Post University men's soccer team allowed three goals in the first half of a 3-0 loss at Merrimack on Thursday night to open the 2012 season. Despite the loss, the Eagles held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks in the match.
The Warriors scored two goals 13 seconds apart in the 25
th minute of the match. Merrimack's Derek Simpson opened the scoring with a header off a feed from Franklin Pena. Michael Rincon scored the second marker for Merrimack (1-0) at the 24:52 mark.
Francis Mulkern added an insurance goal in the 41
st minute for the Warriors to make the score 3-0.

Post (0-1) will round out its competition at the Merrimack Invitational when it takes on American International on Saturday, Sept. 1. The opening touch is slated for 3 p.m.
