Box Score

WATERBURY, Conn. – The #25 Post University men's soccer team finished the 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular season undefeated after it notched a 3-0 win over Nyack at LaMoy Field Friday afternoon. Freshman Francisco Sastre (Sao Paulo, Brazil) netted two goals and junior Joe Baccielo (Stratford, Conn.) added a goal and two assists. Senior Errol Reid (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) made two saves to earn his fifth clean sheet of the season.

With the win, the Eagles clinched their second straight regular season title and will be the top seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament. Post finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-3-3 and 8-0-3 in conference contests, and is riding an 18-game home unbeaten streak. The 12 regular season wins are the most in the program's NCAA Division II history. The record for wins in a season is 14 which came during the 2008 campaign.

Post grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute of the match, Sastre found the back of the net. A cross into the box by senior Korab Muaremi (Middlebury, Conn.) was touched on from Baccielo to Sastre. The Eagles held the one-goal lead at halftime.

Fifty-eight seconds into the second half, Sastre scored his second goal of the match after he blasted a shot past Nyack (8-7-2, 5-4-2 CACC) goalkeeper Jodel Wright. Senior Matt Luis (Naugatuck, Conn.) played a ball to the near flank and Sastre. Sastre took a shot to the far post that deflected in off a Warriors' defender.

Baccielo tacked on Post's third goal at the 65:16 mark off a takeaway.
