WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University volleyball team was defeated by Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Dominican 3-0 on Friday night in Waterbury. The scores were 13-25, 18-25, and 19-25. The Eagles move to 7-12 overall and 6-5 in conference play.

Kelli Reynolds (Stamford, Conn.) and senior
Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Post with eight kills each. Sophomore
Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) had 19 assists and two service aces. Senior
Kelly Hayes (South Orange, N.J.) added 10 digs.
Dominican stormed out to an early 10-4 lead in the first set to force a timeout by Post. The Chargers extended their advantage to as many as 12 at 20-8. Reynolds had four kills in the set.
The Eagles scored the first three points of the second set, capped off with an ace by Slyaktina to pull ahead 3-0 early. Dominican responded with a 13-4 run to take a 13-7 lead. Chance launched a kill out of a timeout to help Post close within three at 13-10.
The Chargers jumped ahead 11-5 in the final set. Post answered with a 7-4 run to pull within three at 15-10. Junior
Emily Wilman (Perth Amboy, N.J.) and Hayes each had two kills during the stretch. Dominican led by as many as eight in the set.
Post will host another CACC match tomorrow afternoon as Georgian Court comes to Waterbury. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
