WATERBURY, Conn (October 29, 2011) The Post University volleyball team defeated USciences on Saturday afternoon, 3-1. With the victory, the Eagles finish the regular season at 8-20 (7-12).
The first game was close throughout, with the Eagles eventually falling 25-23. Post led for most of the second game, before USciences took a 20-19 lead after three straight service aces by Diana Solomon. The Eagles stormed back to take the game 25-22. Post took the final two games by the scores of 25-15 and 25-17.
Emily Wilman led the offensive attack with 17 kills on the day.
Elizabeth Knight added 12 kills.
Taylor Doyle set up 36 of the Eagles 48 total kills.
Everyone chipped in on defense with Wilman leading the way with 18 digs.
Kelly Hayes had 15 digs and
Courtney Braun had 14.
Belinda Snider had four solo blocks and Knight added three. The Eagles combined for 10 blocks as a team in the match.
Before the game Doyle, Knight, Braun,
Kelli Reynolds, and
Monique Chance were honored in the Senior Day celebration.
The Eagles await their fate as they currently sit in fourth in the CACC standings, just ahead of Bloomfield (7-14, 6-11 CACC) and Concordia (6-19, 6-12 CACC).
