Post University Volleyball Defeats Concordia 3-1

BRONXVILLE, NY (October 20, 2010) Post University's volleyball team defeated Concordia College 3-1 Wednesday in a crucial CACC conference match. The win keeps the Eagles playoff hopes alive with a 6-8 conference record.

Liz Knight exploded offensively for the Eagles with 15 kills, only one shy of her season high. Kelly Hayes and Kelli Reynolds combined for 13 and 12 kills respectively. Taylor Doyle tossed up 39 assists with 12 digs. Courtney Braun and Teresa Hodges had 14 digs each.

Concordia was led by Hillary Hoffman with nine kills and 12 assists. Amanda Byrd had 14 digs, while Irina Impellittiere and Alicia Vogel had 12 digs.

The Eagles were victorious in the first two sets 25-18, 25-15 before Concordia rallied to a 25-23 win in the third set. Post University took the fourth set 25-19 securing a 3-1 victory.

The Eagles had 53 kills in the game to the Clippers 31. Post University combined for a total of 14 block assists in the contest.

Post University will return to action on Saturday afternoon at home against Chestnut Hill College. The first serve is scheduled for 1pm.
