Waterbury, Conn (September 26, 2009) Post University's Volleyball team lost two games at home Saturday falling to Wilmington and Mercy. The Eagles' record now stands at 3-13 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

In the first game against Wilmington, the Eagles came out flat. From the opening serve the Wildcats took command, although Post University was able to rally making the final score 25-21 in the first set. The second set was a struggle for the Eagles losing 25-13. 

Trailing 2-0 going into the third set, Post University fought to stay in the game going on a late run to end the set. Their effort came up short, losing the final set by just 2 points 25-23.

Both defensively and offensively the Eagles were led by junior Teresa Hodges, with 16 digs and 7 kills. Courtney Braun had her best game to date with 8 digs and 1 kill. 

In game two against Mercy, the Eagles trailed early on, but rallied back to make the game 23-19 when Mercy called timeout. Mercy regained momentum to take a 25-21 victory. The Eagles made another late set charge in the second, falling short 25-18.

In the third set, Post University used the momentum to earn a hard fought 25-22 win. They backed that up with a fourth set come from behind 27-25 win. 

With the game in the final set, Mercy regained control of the game and went on top for good winning 15-9. It was freshman Aubrey Latham leading the way for the Eagles in game two with 14 kills and 20 digs.
Post University will be in action again on the road against Caldwell on September 29th.
