St. Anselm Downs Volleyball 3-1

Waterbury, Conn (September 20, 2009) – Post University's Volleyball team suffered its first home loss of the 2009 season Sunday afternoon against St. Anselm. It is the second time this season they have lost to St. Anselm by a 3-1 score.
The Eagles looked strong to start the match earning a 25-20 victory, but struggled in the second set scoring just 14 points.
The third set saw a game tied at 25 when St. Anselm capitalized winning 27-25, giving the Hawks a 2-1 lead. The final set looked to be more of the same as St. Anselm, held a 24-20 lead toward the end of the set. Kelly Hayes served an ace to keep the Eagles in the hunt. St. Anselm would register one more kill before Post University could close any closer than 2 points, dropping the final set 25-23.
St. Anselm was led by sophomore outside hitter Charlotte Tencza with 20 kills and 21 digs. The Eagles Aubrey Latham had 13 kills along with 15 digs.
Post University will play again at Dominican on Tuesday night.
