Men's Soccer Falls in Season Opener to Southern 3-1

Danbury, Conn. (August 30, 2009) The CACC defending champions fell in a season opening battle on the road against Southern Connecticut State Sunday.

Southern scored the first two goals of the contest on their home turf and held that lead after the first half. Victor Fernandez and Yoni Feldman were credited with the goals.

In the second half, only two goals would be scored and both were own goals. At 80:02 the Eagle's Kamar Blake was closest as the ball went past Owl goalkeeper Andrew Esposito. Moments later in a similar situation the ball rolled in past Eagle goalkeeper Errol Reid for the second consecutive own goal.

Reid played the entire 90 minutes for Post University and made 1 save.

The Eagles will be in action again on Sept. 4th against Merrimack on the road.
