Post Volleyball Soars Over Bloomfield 3-2

Waterbury, Conn (October 1, 2009) Post University's Volleyball team picked up a crucial win Thursday night over Bloomfield 3-2. It is the 4th conference win of the season for the Eagles and puts them in 3rd place in the CACC North division.

“For the first time this season, the team showed a lot of fight,” said Head Coach Mike Brienza. “We struggled in the 1st and 3rd games, but the team battled back and stayed focused.”

In the opening set, Bloomfield started off strong, but the Eagles were able to close within three at the end (25-22) with Bloomfield taking the win. The second set went in Post University's favor (25-21), but the Deacons won the third (25-14). The Eagles came back to win the final two sets (25-15, 15-8) to take a 3-2 win. 

In the final set, the Eagles showed more tenacity then they had all season, led by Teresa Hodges with 29 digs and 10 kills. Elizabeth Knight had 3 aces, to go with 8 kills and 5 digs.

The Eagles will play again Friday at Chestnut Hill in a CACC contest.
