WATERBURY, Conn. -- For the eighth consecutive year, Post University Men's Golf saw players end up on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Conference team as graduate student
Joe Ensign and freshman
Luis Reina were both named to the list on Monday, while Head Coach
Michael Erickson earned his first Athletic Solutions CACC Coach of the Year honor and the fifth in program history, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Ensign becomes the tenth player in program history to earn CACC All-Conference honors in back-to-back years, as Bill Koch was the last to do so from 2021-24, making it three consecutive years of All-Conference accolades. As for Reina, he earns All-Conference honors as a freshman, becoming the first to achieve that since Antony Netto back during the 2011-12 season in which he was also named the CACC Rookie of the Year.
Becoming the fourth coach in program history to be named CACC Coach of the Year, Erickson is in only his second full year at the helm of the program, taking over the role from Stephen Sokol in January 2024. Erickson joins his former coach as a player, who he also assisted for several years, in Sokol, a two-time recipient, as well as Pete Stevens, and Tommy Dorso Jr., as the four coaches. He is also the second player turned coach to be Coach of the Year, alongside Dorso Jr., who was the 2006-07 CACC Coach of the Year.
Post University finishes out the regular season at the Dominican (N.Y.) Spring Invitational today and tomorrow at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, New York.
