Richard McCallum Named Women's Soccer Goalkeeper Coach, Alum Anna Eicke Appointed Graduate Assistant for 2025 Season

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Adding to the coaching depth for her first season with the team, Post University Women's Soccer Head Coach Meagan Ryan has named Richard McCallum the team's Goalkeeper Coach, and recent alum Anna Eicke will return to the sidelines as a Graduate Assistant with the start of the 2025 season just around the corner. Eicke and McCallum join Post alum Sabrina Pisani, who was named an Assistant Coach back in June, as the trio of assistant coaches helping Ryan on the pitch.

McCallum brings a variety of professional playing experience in addition to his extensive coaching experience, both in the United States and Jamaica. In a playing career spanning from 2001 until 2017 in goal, McCallum started with Seba United in Jamaica before playing for Wadadah Football Club and Invaders Football Club, all for one year each. From 2005 to 2015, he was a part of the Jamaica Senior Men's National Team, playing in 11 games during his stint, while also playing from 2004-17 with Waterhouse Football Club. McCallum also spent one season each with DC United Trialist (MLS) and Puerto Islanders Trialist (NASL) along the way.

As part of Waterhouse FC, McCallum's team won the RSPL Premier League Championship in 2005-06, the Flow Cup in both 2008 and 2013, and the Jackie Bell, along with the RSPL League in 2014. During the 2014 season, McCallum was also named the RSPL Personality of the Year and Player of the Month in April. As part of the Jamaica Senior Men's National Team, McCallum was part of a Lunar Cup Championship in 2007 and a Digicel Caribbean Cup in 2010. At the start of his career, he also earned the RSPL Junior Player of the Year in 2003-04 with Invaders FC.

As a coach, McCallum got his start in 2013, spending three years with Waterhouse FC's U13-15 program in Jamaica, helping lead drills until 2017, when he was named Waterhouse FC's Goalkeeper Coach for a season and helped train the first team goalkeepers. Most recently, McCallum was the Head Coach at Brooklyn Soccer Center in New York from 2018-20, developing and coordinating soccer curriculum for players ages 4-12. McCallum currently has a USSF Grassroots License and resides in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Eicke spent two seasons at Post after transferring from Wabash Valley College (NJCAA), where she was an All-American and Second Team All-Region during the 2022 season. As an Eagle, Eicke appeared in 28 games, starting in 17 of them, in which she tallied one goal and five assists for seven total points. All of those numbers came during her senior season in 2024, in which she appeared in 1,098 minutes for Post and scored that goal during the season opener against Saint Anselm College on September 5th, 2024, at home. The graduate student earned her Bachelor's in Sports Management in the spring of 2025.

Post University kicks off the 2025 regular season on Sunday, September 7th, on LaMoy Field at home against Saint Michael's College at 12:00 PM. The Eagles will play three exhibition games ahead of that date, starting with a matchup against St. Thomas Aquinas College on Thursday, August 28th, at 7:00 PM at home.
