Post Alum Sabrina Pisani Named Women's Soccer Assistant Coach

WATERBURY, Conn. -- Post University Women's Soccer alum Sabrina (Sinopoli) Pisani will be returning to the pitch in a different capacity 13 years after graduating from the institution in 2012 as first-year Head Coach Meagan Ryan has announced Pisani as one of her assistant coaches for the upcoming 2025 season set to get underway at LaMoy Field against Saint Michael's College on Sunday, September 7th at 1:00 PM.

Pisani comes back to Post with a myriad of soccer experience that dates all the way back to her high school days at Watertown High School where the forward was an All-Naugatuck Valley League recipient in all four years of her career from 2005-08 as well as an All-NVL Tournament Team honoree in 2008, which also coincided with her League Top Senior, Most Valuable Player, and All-State Award.

From there, Pisani came to Post, earning CACC Rookie of the Year in 2009 after scoring six goals and recording one assist for 13 points, which ranked second on the team, across 14 games and 13 starts as a freshman, and made the CACC All-Academic Team in 2010. In her senior season (2012), Pisani was named a CACC All-Conference Honorable Mention, the Team's Most Valuable Player, and led the conference in assists with eight, which ranks fourth for a single-season in program history, as part of a 22-point season, which also saw her tie for the second-high shot percentage for a season at .280%. Across her entire career, she appeared in 63 games, totaling up 19 goals and 16 assists for 54 points, leading her to sit tied for third in career assists, as no player since her career from 2009-12 has recorded more than 16 assists in their career.

Talking about the hiring of Pisani, Ryan said, "I am thrilled to welcome Sabrina back to Post as our new Assistant Coach. As an alum of this program, she brings a unique perspective and a deep sense of pride in what it means to be part of Post. Her experience coaching in the local community has built strong ties that will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our connection with the area. I am excited for the energy, insight, and passion she'll bring as we work to move this program forward."

Since her illustrious career as a player, Pisani has had a 12-year coaching career leading up to her return, first starting as a CFC Assistant Coach in Newtown/Southbury, while also being a Graduate Assistant at the University of Bridgeport for a Purple Knights team that won the East Coast Conference Tournament in 2014. Continuing her career in Southbury, Connecticut, Pisani was the Assistant Director of Coaching for Southbury FC from 2020-2023, which coincided with a four-year stint from 2019-2023 as the Southbury FC Coach.

Returning to her high school, Pisani was the Head Coach of the Women's Soccer program at Watertown High School for two seasons, leading them to the state semifinals and winning the Naugatuck Valley League Championship in her first season. She currently serves as the Assistant Director of Coaching and Player Development for WAYS in Watertown, while also working as a sixth-grade teacher in Newtown, Connecticut, and teaching online for Post University.

Discussing her new role with Post, Pisani said, "I am incredibly excited to be back at my alma mater, this time as an Assistant Coach for the Women's Soccer team. It is an honor to give back to the program that helped shape me, and I am looking forward to building strong relationships, fostering growth, and competing with pride alongside these talented student-athletes."

Pisani currently resides in Watertown, Connecticut, with her husband, Anthony, and two sons, Luca and Gio.
