WATERBURY, Conn. -- Senior attacker
Hunter McCarty is headed to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Senior All-Star Game, which will be held this evening at 7:00 PM on the campus of Providence College at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.
McCarty is one of 51 student-athletes between the Division I through III levels that will compete in the All-Star Game, which is free to attend and located at 250 Huxley Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island. All players and coaches were nominated by the head coaches within the NEILA. Players were then ranked and selected by a committee, awarding seniors from all three NCAA Divisions who played their college career in the New England region.
McCarty will play on the West Team, which will be coached by Springfield College Head Coach Keith Bugbee and Graduate Assistant Coach Ryon Lynch, and he is one of only two Division II lacrosse players from the New England region to participate in the game.
In his only season with the Eagles, McCarty reached 100 career goals between his time with Post and Concordia University (NAIA) as well as 200 career points. In 16 games this season, McCarty accumulated 38 goals and 29 assists for 67 total points offensively, while on the defensive end, he amassed 48 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.
