Box Score Waterbury, CT - The Post University women's lacrosse team lost a 25-8 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match to Wilmington on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field.
Post is now 4-12 overall and 3-7 in the CACC, while the Wildcats are 12-5 and 8-2, respectively.
Morgan Cassiliano and
Molly Dobratz each had hat tricks for the Eagles, while
Hailey McHenry scored twice.
The Eagles fell behind early, allowing the first eight goals of the game, including seven in the first period as Makenzie Stritzinger and Ella Baynes each scored twice during the 8-0 start.
Post rebounded with the next three goals to cut the deficit to 8-3, the first coming from Dobratz, who took a pass from
Samantha Targonski off of a free position attempt at the 12:27 mark of the second. Cassiliano followed with her first goal of the  game at the 10:36 running from behind the net and firing at the net. Dobratz scored her second on a free position shot.
Wilmington scored the next three goals, before the Eagles scored two of the final three as Cassiliano scored her second on an assist from Dobratz. Dobratz would then score her third of the period - and second on a free position shot - to make it a 12-5 game at the half.
The two teams swapped the first two goals of the second half as Ella Royer and McHenry swapped goals, but the Wildcats scored the next six, putting the game out of reach. McHenry would add her second goal of the game and Cassiliano her third with 56 seconds left for the final tally for the Eagles, her 50th of the season.
Christina Badaracco had eight saves for the Eagles and
Lauren Bain had 12.
The Eagles wrap up their regular season on Saturday, April 29 as they play at Felician at 11 a.m.
