Waterbury, CT - The Post University women's lacrosse team was selected to finish seventh in the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll.
The Eagles received 59 voting points, just four points behind University of Bridgeport and 16 points ahead of Caldwell.
Georgian Court, who has won the last five CACC titles was picked once again to win, with 104 voting points and five first-place votes. Dominican received six first place votes and 102 total voting points. Jefferson was picked third to round out the top three.
Last season, the Eagles finished in sixth place at 5-12 overall and 4-5 in the CACC. The Eagles qualified for the CACC tournament. falling to Dominican in the first round.
Post opens up its regular season on February 21 at Southern New Hampshire. The Eagles will open up CACC play at home against Holy Family on March 18.
The top-six teams in the standings following the regular season will earn a spot in the CACC tournament, with the top-two seeds earning a bye into the semis. The first round on May 2 will feature the fifth seed at the fourth seed, and the sixth seed at the third seed. The two first-round winners will advance to championship weekend on May 6 and 7, hosted by Post University.Â
