Dylan Heald was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 13-19. Teammates
Christopher Evans and
Ryan Denike were named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
The Eagles went 1-1 during the opening week of the season, falling to Saint Michael's, 15-10 on Feb. 17 and getting their first win of the season, a 19-9 victory over D'Youville on Feb. 19.
Heald had nine goals and four assists to go with seven ground balls during the week. In the win over D'Youville, Heald had a career-high six goals to go along with two assists and six ground balls. Against Saint Michael's he had three goals and two assists with a ground ball.
Evans, a freshman, was dominant on the faceoff, winning 28 of 38 draws (73.7 percent), while picking up ten ground balls. Against D'Youville, he won 19 of 26 faceoffs to go with eight ground balls. He went 9-for-12 against Saint Michael's in faceoffs to go with two ground balls.
Denike also had an impressive debut, with five goals and three assists for the week. He had a hat trick and two assists against D'Youville. He scored twice against Saint Michael's, including the first goal of the season for the Eagles.
The Eagles will travel down to Maryland to take on Aldersson Broadus on Feb. 25 at noon at Tierney Field at the U.S. Lacrosse Headquarters.
