Women’s Hockey Blanked By Mercyhurst

Box Score Shelton, CT – The Post University women's hockey team lost an 8-0 game to Mercyhurst in a non-conference game on Friday at The Rinks at Shelton.
Post is now 2-18 on the season, while Mercyhurst moves to 11-11.

Hannah Saunders finished with 46 saves, her second-most in the season. She has totaled 66 blocks in her last 60 minutes of action over two games.

The Lakers used six second period goals to pull away from the Eagles as Grace Nelles and Makayla Javier each scored a pair of goals in the period.

Alyssa Kawa also had two goals on the day for the Lakers.

Tristan Currie went 10-10 in faceoffs to lead the Eagles.

Post finished with seven shots on net, with Tymmarie Grom leading the way with three to go with five blocks. Jenna Abeyta led the Eagles with seven blocks.

Post had a season-high 30 blocks on the day.

Up next, the Eagles will host Saint Michael's on Tuesday, January 10 at 1 p.m.
