NORTH EASTON, Mass. (Oct. 16, 2026) -- Eagles Women's Ice Hockey traveled to Massachusetts Friday afternoon, opening an away-and-away series against Stonehill University, losing 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The fourth-ranked team in the New England Women's Hockey Alliance to begin the season welcomed the Eagles with two first-period goals.

In the opening period, Spencer Vaccari skated her way down the ice, shooting the puck into the pads of Eagles goalie, Devyn Amundson, before her teammate Makenna Slocum took another shot off the rebound, this time finding the back of the net with just 29 seconds remaining in the period.

Taking no time for granted, Brooke Harb took another shot on goal that again bounced off Amundson's pads, and Julie Morrison took a close shot off the rebound this time for the Skyhawks' second success.

Continuing momentum after the break, Morrison picked up right where she left off scoring the Skyhawks' power-play goal at 2:57 in the period. With the Eagles' first shot of the period at 4:10, freshman Rylie Griffiths shot from beyond the Eagles' offensive zone faceoff circles and connected for her second score of the season.

Stonehill outshot Post in the second period, 6-26 and 4-13 on goal, before the third period told the same story with the host taking 14 shots on goal to their visitors' six.

WHO'S NEXT

The Eagles will stay in Massachusetts tonight as Stonehill will host them again on Saturday, October 17 at 2 p.m.
