Stonehill: 3-4-0 (3-1-0 NEWHA)

HOW IT HAPPENED

On the coattails of a 3-1 win over the Eagles Friday evening, the Skyhawks opened Saturday's game scorching. Just 37 seconds into the second of two-straight home matchups versus the Eagles, Summer Combe fired into Eagles goalie, Alex Young's net, converting on the power-play.

The rest of the first period, the Eagles stayed evenly matched against the Skyhawks, each team taking 11 shots on goal. In the faceoff circle, the Eagles won eight of 18 matchups.

In the second period, the Skyhawks outshot the Eagles, 31-8, in a barrage against Young in which she came up with 15 saves. Eight of Post's shots reached Duffer's goal, but she stopped them all.

In the third period, Head Coach Brandon Brown's fresh Eagles army proved relentless in their invasion on Stonehill. With 51 seconds left on the Eagles' second power-play of the period, sophomore defenseman Lily Zohner took a far shot that nicked the swinging stick of Celena Mickevivius for the equalizing score, Mickevicius' second goal of the season. Freshman Rylie Griffiths also assisted.

As momentum shifted in the Eagles' favor, they outshot the Skyhawks for the first time Saturday in the third period, 14-8, finding reward in the final score.

With 4:44 left to play, freshman Flora Pasztor moved the puck from the left side of Post's offensive zone to the center as a Stonehill defenseman crumpled in front of her, and she saw an opening, scoring her second goal of the season, putting Post ahead for the first time over the course of their trip to Massachusetts. Stonehill took four more shots in the period, but without converting, it was Post who ended up on top for their first New England Women's Hockey Alliance win of the season.

WHO'S NEXT

The Eagles will remain on the road as they face Merrimack College next Friday, October 23 at 5 p.m. This will be the first matchup between the two teams.
