Manchester, N.H. – Ethan Phillips shot a 1-over par 71 and finished with an even par 210 and finished second in the Penmen Fall Invitational on Tuesday, leading his Post University men's golf team to a second place finish as well at Derryfield Country Club.
As a team, the Eagles finished with a 12-over par 868 for the tournament (287-289-292). It is the second consecutive second place finish for the Eagles. They also finished second at the Franklin Pierce Invitational. Southern New Hampshire won the tournament with an even par 840 (280-280-280). Matt Conti of SNHU won the individual title at 4-under par.
Ian Wivestad finished with a 3-over par 73 and finished the tournament with a 3-over par 213 in the 54-hole tournament and tied for sixth.
Bill Koch and Riley Card both shot final rounds of 74 and finished 18th and tied for 19th, respectively. Koch finished 12-over par, and Card finished 13-over par.
Amal Jha, playing as an individual, shot a 78 on the day and finished with a 22-over par 232.
Phillips finished with three birdies on the day and led the field in the tournament with 39 pars. Phillips, Koch and Wivestad all finished with eight birdies during the tournament.
