WATERBURY, Conn. -- Closing out the split squad events today, Post University Men's Golf saw their A squad finish in third place at the Penmen Invitational at 19-over-par, just three strokes off the pace of Assumption's A team and Southern New Hampshire University, while Post's B team placed second behind AIC's A team at the Yellow Jacket Invitational with an 89-over-par finish, 19 strokes off of their pace.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Nearly taking the entire individual event, graduate student
Joe Ensign had a two-under-par second round, closing in second place, just one stroke behind winner Gavin Richardson of Southern New Hampshire University at three-under-par, after he shot four-under-par in the final round. Felician University's Carlos Ferreira finished just behind Ensign at one-over-par to round out the top three in the event.
As for the rest of the Eagles who competed, junior
Braden Shea fell back in the pack a little, finishing round two at four-over-par to close at five-over-par in the event in a tie for eighth. Freshman
Luis Reina turned in a solid final round at one-over-par to finish seven-over-par in a tie for 15th, while freshmen
Gavin Giroux and
Phillip Granum were one stroke apart at 10-over-par in a tie for 26th and 11-over-par in a tie for 30th, respectively. Giroux's second round saw him close at five-over-par, while Granum's finish was a six-over-par on the day.
In the latter holes of the event, Post would briefly take the lead over Assumption before falling back into third place after the Greyhounds and Southern New Hampshire leaped them in the standings by three strokes, while Bentley University finished five strokes behind them in fourth.Â

As for the five in Massachusetts, they would combine for a 29-over-par final round, finishing 19 strokes off of AIC's A team, while AIC's B team finished third at 128-over-par. Mylhian Todem won the individual crown for the Yellow Jackets at 10-over-par, while freshman Dominican Giamei closed at 13-over-par in the third overall spot. Just behind him was senior
Nathan Leonard in fourth place at 16-over-par, followed by junior
Flo Schimek in fifth at 17-over-par. Leonard had the best finish out of the bunch for Post with a two-under-par final round.
Sophomore
Jack O'Brien had an 11-over-par third round for the Eagles, closing in ninth place at 30-over-par, while senior
Eric Forte was 14-over-par in the finale, finishing 16th at 41-over-par. Freshman
Edward Grinvalsky had his best round as an independent entry for Post, shooting eight-over-par to finish 17th overall with a 48-over-par showing.
