Men's Golf Wins Second Straight Invitational, Takes Dominican (N.Y.) Spring Invitational

SUFFERN, N.Y. – The momentum continues to build for Post University Men's Golf as the Eagles made it two straight invitational wins in a row, winning the Dominican (N.Y.) Spring Invitational on Tuesday over Adelphi University, posting a 17-over-par score, four strokes ahead of the second-place Panthers, who were 21-over-par.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
The top five was full of Eagles as four of the five team players finished within the top five behind Adelphi's Francis Lanuza, who won the individual event with an even par finish. Behind him, freshman Phillip Granum placed second with a two-over-par score after shooting an even score today following a two-over-par performance yesterday, and then freshman Gavin Giroux rounded out the top three with a three-over-par score, shooting one-over-par in round two.

Freshman Luis Reina, who was named to the All-Conference Team on Monday, closed out at four-over-par in fourth with his three-over-par day, playing as an independent for Post, while junior Braden Shea was the last of the foursome in the top five with a six-over-par, having a five-over-par on the course today.

The final two Eagles to compete in the event were junior Nathan Leonard as an independent in a tie for 11th, closing at ten-over-par after being three-over-par, while junior Flo Schimek was tied for 14th, going seven-over-par in round two for an 11-over-par finish.

WHAT'S NEXT  
Post University prepares for the NCAA Regional taking place from May 7th to 9th in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, at the Sunnehanna Country Club. This will be the 15th time in program history that the Eagles are competing in a regional.
