JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Participating in its 15th NCAA Regional in program history, Post University Men's Golf started the three-day event hosted by Pitt-Johnstown with an 18th-place finish at 26-over-par, while Gannon University led the field at five-over-par, just two strokes ahead of Winston Salem-State at seven-over-par and Pitt-Johnstown, Wheeling, and Adelphi, who were all tied for third at nine-over-par.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Among the leaders in the individual category, Jack Kantowski from Bentley University was tied alongside Gannon's Rasmus Seppanen at three-under-par, while Francis Lanuza of Adelphi trailed close behind at two-under-par, and Gavin Goodrich of California (PA) tied for fourth with Zak Collins of Wheeling for fourth at one-under-par. All five of those golfers were the only ones in the field to finish under par on day one.
Among the players from Post, freshman
Luis Reina finished tied for 30th at three-over-par with a myriad of other players in the field, while both graduate student
Joe Ensign and freshman
Phillip Granum finished tied for 74th place among several players at seven-over-par. Tied for 92nd, freshman
Gavin Giroux and junior
Braden Shea were tied at nine-over-par each, while junior
Flo Schimek was listed as the substitute for the first round.
