The Post University men's hockey team finished as the top team in the Helper Helper challenge for all Division II hockey programs in the country.
Helper Helper tracks volunteer hours for colleges and their teams throughout the season.
Among all of its causes, its biggest m ay have been when the team hosted the Cerebral Palsy Benefit Game, raising money for the Hidden Acres Therapeutic Riding Center for people impacted by the disorder.
"I am extremely proud of my team and this great achievement," head coach
Pete Whitney said. "It's not easy to take time out of your day with the demands of school and athletics . The fact that these students athletes recognize the importance of giving back is really the reward . I am confident that after graduation this will become part of who these young men are."
The men's hockey team weren't the only ones to spread their generosity in their community. The Post men's and women's golf team both finished third and sixth respectively in Division II in their sports, participating in the Kindness Counts campaign and supporting Autism Awareness.
