WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University men's and women's lacrosse teams will host "Roses for Aubrey" Day on Saturday, April 9. The women play Chestnut Hill at noon and the men follow at 3 p.m. against Georgian Court. The teams will be wearing special warm-up shirts in support of Aubrey Rose Szast, a four-year old diagnosed with a tumor on her brain stem, as well as collecting donations.
Aubrey was diagnosed a very rare tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) on her brain stem. The tumor is inoperable because of its location. DIPG is not common as there are approximately just 300 cases a year in the United States. She has recently completed six weeks of radiation treatment.
Aubrey's parents will be on hand at LaMoy Field on Saturday selling bracelets and baked goods, as well as collecting donations for medical expenses.
The Eagles will also be celebrating senior day as the four women's and men's seniors are honored in pregame ceremonies.
