Eagles Men’s Lacrosse Defeated At Assumption, 15-8

Three Eagles Tallied Two Goals

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Post University men's lacrosse team was defeated at Assumption 15-8 on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles have now lost two in a row and fall to 3-3 on the year.
 
Assumption grabbed control of the game early as it scored seven straight to open the game, three by Garrett Smith. Freshman Andrew D'Angleo (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) found classmate Tim Wright (Waterloo, N.Y.) for the Eagles' first goal with 10:12 left in the half. The Greyhounds tacked on three more scores and headed into the half up 10-1.
 
After falling behind 13-1 early in the third quarter, Post's offense got on track scoring four straight times. Junior Andrew Supanich (Jackson, Va.) got things started with his first of two goals in the game. Freshman Alex Brownlee (Syracuse, N.Y.) found the back of the net just 47 seconds later. Supanich closed out the third with another goal.
 
Freshman Kyle Shannon (Stanhope, N.J.) opened the fourth quarter with a score that cut the deficit to 13-5 with 12:50 left. After two more goals by the Greyhounds, Post added three scores to close out the game.
 
Supanich, Wright, and Shannon each had two goals for the Eagles. Brownlee recorded one goal and an assist. Post was 17-for-21 on the clears on the day and scored once on seven extra-man opportunities.
 
The Eagles close out their five-game road trip on Wednesday, March 12 at Franklin Pierce. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
