Diggett and Polaski Score Three Times In Eagles’ Defeat

Post Falls To 2-4 on the Season

Box Score

RADNOR, Pa. – Senior Meghan Diggett (East Islip, N.Y.) and junior Miranda Polaski (Agawam, Mass.) each scored three goals but the Post University women's lacrosse team fell to Holy Family 20-6 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Saturday afternoon. It's the fourth straight multi-goal game for the two Eagles.

The Tigers took control from the opening whistle with seven straight goals. Diggett put the Eagles on the board with 7:37 remaining in the first off a pass from senior Morgan Kanavy (Syracuse, N.Y.). She would add another score with less than a minute remaining in the half as Post trailed 8-2 at the break.

Post made it interesting to start the second half as it scored three of the first four goals to close the gap to 9-5. Diggett scored her third of the day off a pass from Polaski to begin the period. After a score by Holy Family, Polaski found the back of the net on two straight possessions.

Holy Family pulled away from there. Polaski scored her third goal on a free-position attempt with under a minute remaining. The junior led the Eagles with five ground balls and draw controls, and one caused turnover. Diggett picked up four ground balls.

The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, March 25 against in-state rival Southern Connecticut. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
